Zero-Trust Security & SecOps Uplift for a National Regulator
CYVERRA delivered an enterprise-wide Zero-Trust architecture and automated Security Operations Centre (SOC) transformation for a national regulatory body. The engagement established continuous identity verification, hardened multi-cloud workloads, and reduced security incident triage latency by 74%.

The Challenge
The regulatory authority handled sensitive corporate filings, enforcement records, and market surveillance feeds across a distributed hybrid infrastructure. Historical reliance on traditional castle-and-moat network perimeters proved insufficient as remote work expanded and workloads migrated across multiple sovereign cloud tenancies and on-premises datacentres. Security operations were hindered by fragmented monitoring tools that generated excessive alert noise without unified context. Security analysts spent disproportionate hours manually correlating disparate log streams from legacy firewalls, virtual machines, and Software-as-a-Service platforms. This operational bottleneck lengthened mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR) against emerging identity-based and supply chain threats. Additionally, the organisation faced strict public sector compliance mandates requiring continuous identity attestation, granular role-based access control, and defensible audit logging across all systems storing market-sensitive intelligence.
Our Approach
CYVERRA designed and executed a multi-phase Zero-Trust transformation framework aligned with NCSC and NIST guidelines. The engagement initiated an identity-first access model, deploying phishing-resistant multifactor authentication, automated conditional access policies, and privileged access management (PAM) with just-in-time credential brokering across internal and external stakeholders. To remediate workload sprawl, our team implemented network microsegmentation and automated configuration baselines across hybrid environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Cloud workloads and API endpoints received continuous posture management to prevent configuration drift and restrict inter-service communication exclusively to verified, encrypted channels. We modernised SecOps capabilities by deploying a cloud-native SIEM and SOAR platform integrated with extended detection and response (EDR) agents. CYVERRA engineered bespoke automated containment playbooks for common threat vectors, including credential compromise and unauthorised data exfiltration attempts, enabling the SOC to orchestrate rapid triage and quarantine actions with minimal manual intervention.
The Outcome
The implementation established a resilient, identity-centric security architecture across the agency's entire application footprint. Automated SOAR playbooks successfully absorbed routine event correlation, resolving 86% of Tier-1 alerts automatically and allowing senior analysts to focus on proactive threat hunting and forensic analysis. Mean time to respond to high-severity alerts dropped by 74%, while microsegmentation and just-in-time credential workflows eliminated lateral movement pathways across multi-cloud environments. The regulator achieved full compliance with government data protection standards and reduced the administrative burden of mandatory periodic access audits by 65%.
