Zero-Trust Data Protection for an International Law Firm
CYVERRA VERIDION GROUP architected a comprehensive Zero-Trust framework and automated data loss prevention pipeline across 18 regional offices. The engagement secured high-value client matter repositories while drastically reducing incident detection latency across hybrid endpoints.

The Challenge
The client operated across 18 offices in Europe, North America, and the Middle East, handling highly confidential M&A documentation, litigation discovery materials, and intellectual property portfolios. Distributed partners and external legal counsel increasingly relied on disparate cloud storage solutions and legacy VPN concentrators, creating severe visibility gaps and latency across cross-border matters. Privileged data access control lacked uniform policy enforcement, making compliance with multi-jurisdictional data privacy regulations (including GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and state-level US mandates) labor-intensive and prone to human error. Unmanaged shadow IT collaboration tools introduced continuous risks of data leakage during critical transaction deadlines. Internal IT and security teams were overwhelmed by decentralized logging and high false-positive alert rates from siloed perimeter defenses, leaving them unable to rapidly isolate compromised accounts or detect anomalous cross-border data transfers.
Our Approach
CYVERRA deployed an enterprise-wide Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) model combined with context-aware Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to replace legacy boundary perimeter defenses. Centralized identity governance was established via single sign-on (SSO), continuous adaptive authentication, and granular conditional access policies mapped to individual matter codes and partner jurisdictions. Our engineering team micro-segmented core legal management systems and document repositories, enforcing automated data classification at ingestion. Automated encryption and rights management policies were embedded directly into document lifecycles, restricting unauthorized downloads, matter forwarding, and screen captures on unmanaged remote endpoints. To establish real-time operational defense, CYVERRA integrated a cloud-native SIEM/SOAR platform. We engineered tailored orchestration playbooks capable of automatically revoking session tokens, quarantining compromised endpoints, and blocking high-risk data egress attempts within seconds of anomalous behavioral detection.
The Outcome
The implementation unified the firm's security posture across all global offices without introducing operational friction for billable fee-earners. Secure application onboarding and direct-to-cloud ZTNA connections reduced remote access latency by 45%, providing seamless access to central litigation and deal rooms from anywhere. Automated threat detection and SOAR playbooks reduced the firm's Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) by 74% and Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) by 82%. Automated classification and boundary rules eliminated unsanctioned file sharing, providing absolute auditability for external regulatory inquiries and demanding client security assessments.
