ERP implementation for a telecommunications organisation: CYVERRA unified fragmented financial, procurement, and fixed-asset systems into a consolidated cloud ERP platform for a pan-regional telecommunications provider. The implementation synchronised multi-jurisdiction capital expenditure accounting with real-time network build milestones and operational inventory tracking.

The Challenge

The operator managed extensive fibre and cell site rollout programmes across four operating regions, but relied on disconnected legacy ERP instances and spreadsheet-based asset ledgers. This architectural fragmentation created severe blind spots in Capital Expenditure (CapEx) tracking, where procurement orders, engineering work orders, and capitalised asset registers failed to reconcile until months after site energisation. Finance and supply chain teams faced prolonged 22-day monthly close cycles due to manual cross-border intercompany reconciliations and inaccurate inventory logs between regional central warehouses and field deployment vans. The inability to map physical network equipment directly to depreciation schedules also exposed the organisation to compliance and audit risks across varying tax jurisdictions.

Our Approach

CYVERRA architected and delivered a standardised, multi-entity cloud ERP foundation built on SAP S/4HANA Cloud, hosted on Microsoft Azure. We established a unified global chart of accounts while embedding country-specific statutory and tax localisation rules to streamline intercompany billing and automated compliance reporting. To bridge the gap between network engineering and finance, our engineering team integrated the ERP core with the client's field dispatch systems and central warehouses using Kafka and SAP Integration Suite. This event-driven integration enabled automatic asset capitalisation the moment a field technician validated site commissioning via digital work orders, eliminating retrospective manual asset creation. Delivery followed a phased multi-region cutover model. CYVERRA deployed automated data extraction and reconciliation pipelines to clean, deduplicate, and migrate legacy asset ledgers and open purchase orders, supported by role-specific workflow training and change management programmes for finance and supply chain personnel.

The Outcome

The consolidated platform transformed the provider's financial operations by centralising five legacy environments into a single real-time operational core. Month-end financial close cycles were reduced from 22 days to 10 days, granting executive leadership immediate visibility into infrastructure expenditure against engineering milestones. Automated site-level capitalisation and synchronized warehouse tracking reduced physical inventory discrepancies by 62% and eliminated CapEx reporting lag. The unified platform lowered total cost of ownership across core business applications while establishing scalable financial governance for future regional acquisitions.
