The Challenge

The retailer operated ten regional digital storefronts anchored to an aging monolithic eCommerce platform. High checkout latency, brittle plug-in architectures, and rigid release cycles routinely led to performance degradation during seasonal promotional peaks, impacting customer retention and direct-to-consumer revenues. Product catalogue data, promotion rules, and inventory levels were siloed across legacy ERP nodes and disparate regional databases. The lack of a unified integration layer prevented real-time inventory visibility across physical store networks and fulfilment hubs, causing frequent stockouts, order cancellations, and customer service escalations. Furthermore, business teams faced two-week development lead times for basic merchandising updates and localized content campaigns. Merchandisers lacked self-service tools, creating substantial engineering dependencies and limiting the brand's ability to adapt to fast-evolving consumer trends.

Our Approach

CYVERRA designed and implemented a cloud-native, composable commerce architecture based on modern MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) principles. A high-performance headless frontend was paired with best-of-breed microservices for catalogue discovery, unified checkout, and dynamic promotion engines. To resolve data fragmentation, the team deployed an event-driven integration layer using Apache Kafka to bridge legacy ERP instances, warehouse management systems (WMS), and point-of-sale (POS) systems. This architecture guarantees sub-second inventory synchronization across all digital channels and physical store fulfilment nodes. CYVERRA also instituted a centralized design system and an automated CI/CD pipeline supporting multi-region canary deployments. Merchandising teams were equipped with a modern headless CMS, empowering regional operators to launch localized campaigns and landing pages independently within minutes.

The Outcome

The migration to a composable digital platform delivered immediate technical and commercial gains, reducing average page load times by 54% and driving a 28% increase in mobile checkout conversions across primary markets. Operational agility improved dramatically, with feature release cycles collapsing from two weeks to under an hour without scheduled downtime. Real-time inventory orchestration lowered out-of-stock cancellations by 42%, establishing a resilient digital foundation for sustainable cross-border expansion.
