Bespoke Engagement Delivery Engine for an Engineering Consultancy
CYVERRA designed and deployed a custom engagement delivery and utilisation platform to replace fragmented legacy tooling across 14 global offices. The solution unified project milestones, real-time margin tracking, and technical deliverable workflows into a single cloud-native application.

The Challenge
The client operated across multiple jurisdictions with complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects, relying on disconnected spreadsheets and departmental point solutions. This fragmented tooling caused operational data latency between field milestone completion, resource timesheets, and central financial reporting. Project directors lacked real-time visibility into scope changes and sub-consultant expenditure, which contributed to margin erosion and protracted billing cycles. In addition, quality assurance and technical sign-offs required manual document routing, introducing compliance exposure and slowing formal project handovers. Off-the-shelf professional services automation software could not accommodate the firm's matrixed resourcing model across cross-border tax entities, necessitating a tailored software architecture aligned directly with their engineering delivery lifecycle.
Our Approach
CYVERRA engineered a modular, event-driven web application built on domain-driven design principles. The platform mapped complex engineering work breakdown structures directly to milestone gates, resource schedules, and financial billing codes. The engineering team implemented automated validation workflows for technical review gates, role-based resource scheduling, and an automated revenue recognition service synced via secure APIs to core accounting ledgers. Secure document pipelines and cryptographic audit trails were integrated to govern drawing sign-offs and regulatory submissions. Delivery followed an agile model across three phases, conducting parallel operational runs in two regional pilots before rolling out the containerised infrastructure globally with automated CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
The Outcome
The unified platform centralised engagement management across all 14 offices, significantly reducing billing cycles and eliminating month-end operational reconciliation backlogs. Project managers gained immediate visibility into project burn rates and capacity allocation, mitigating margin variance on fixed-fee and time-and-materials contracts. Standardised digital approval workflows accelerated deliverable sign-offs while strengthening compliance with international quality assurance standards. The continuous data stream enabled leadership to model pipeline demand accurately and optimize global engineering staffing.
